Your Bio

I am based in the Seattle area. My primary camera is an Olympus E-5 DSLR on which I mostly use the 14-35mm SWD f2.0 lens (28-70mm full-frame equivalent). My other Zuiko lens gear includes the wide-angle Zuiko 9-18mm f4-5.6 lens, 50-200mm f2.8-3.5 SWD, Zuiko 50mm f2.0 Macro, 70-300mm f4-5.6 and 1.4x/2.0x teleconverters.

I also shoot film (slides and negatives) both in 35mm and Medium Format (6x7). The 35mm gear includes Olympus OM system (1970-era) and the Contax G2 system (1996). I recently also started shooting with a Mamiya 7ii medium-format film rangefinder, with 43mm f4.5, 80mm f4 and 150mm f4 lenses.

I like traveling to different cultures and countries, and this site is intended to share that passion.

Costa Rica wildlife : Bio-diversity in Costa Rica is just amazing. We observed over 15 species of Rainforest frogs (including the lethal red poison-dart frog, which has enough toxin on its skin to kill 50 people), several animals such as monkeys and sloths, lizards and iguanas, and finally .. leaf cutter ants (I had only seen these in NatGeo documentaries, so it was quite exciting to watch these ants cutup leaves with their supersharp mandibles and haul it away to their nest). Captions below each picture indicate the species and location of the observed wildlife.

Snowy Owls - Grays Harbor, WA : Rare sightings of Arctic Snowy Owls in the Seattle area this year (2012). These pictures were taken in Damon Point State Park, on the Olympic Peninsula. There were about 10-15 owls, huge birds with about 5 ft wingspans. Apparently they are attracted to this specific area given the close resemblance to the Arctic tundra region (their summer home).

Wild Horse Wind Farm, Kittitas, East WA : Wild Horse Wind and Solar Facility and Renewable Energy Center is 16 miles east of Ellensburg in Central Washington. Wild Horse's wind turbines have the capacity to generate up to 273 megawatts (MW) of electricity.
